Lampwork Beads
Iam fascinated by glass artistry of all kinds. When I visit craft shows, I always stop and admire the glass work and often bring a piece home. Lampwork glass artists are a talented breed and I search for artists that I think are exceptional, with reasonable prcies so that I can create an affordable piece for you.
Carolyn Conley makes the most amazing open rose beads and I have developed a few styles using these remarkable beads. I have used her roses in light pink, hot pink, ivory, yellow, lavender and white. The pendants also incorporate gemstones susch as quartz, toumaline, garnet, citrine and more, sometimes freshwater pearls and generally Swarovski crystals. I think her white roses are perfect for brides, especially when paired with freshwater pearls and crystals. The single roses will make beautiful bridesmaid choices too, especially if you bring a rose color from the bouquet to the neck. I have one customer, Melissa, who has purchased five of my rose necklaces in the last year.
Mariya Anton of MgA Designs makes fabulous pillow shaped beads that are large, but no heavy. I'm not a bracelet wearer, but I love to wear my bracelets using her beads. I accent her beads with sterling silver and Swarovksi crystal clusters and they sparkle, sparkle sparkle. I use three colors of crystals to pick up the great colors in the beads.
I'm always on the lookout for other artists to work with. I like to develop a relationship with my artists. I find great beads on the bead auction site www.justbeads.com. Ebay also continues to ahve wonderful artists. The Annealer Magazine has some excellent bead artists that showcase their work for sale too.
